[This is an excerpt.] Currently, there are 17 states with statutes or regulations addressing pharmacist prescribing of tobacco cessation aids (without a CPA). In the map below, green states allow pharmacists to prescribe all FDA-approved tobacco cessation aids (including varenicline and bupropion), orange states allow pharmacists to prescribe all FDA-approved nicotine replacement products, and yellow states allow pharmacists to prescribe nicotine replacement products that are available over-the-counter.
